Cosmelan Peel
We’re excited to offer the Mesoestetic® Cosmelan peel, a skin treatment that has been proven to deliver some of the most significant pigment reduction available through a topical procedure.
The Cosmelan peel is one of the most effective peels for sun damage and discoloration. Made of a mixture of highly effective ingredients, this peel exfoliates pigmentation, very effectively without the use of any heat or energy.
What can the Cosmelan peel address?
Sun damage and discoloration like freckles and sunspots.
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
Melasma
Uneven skin tone
Enlarged pores
Acne and brown pigmentation from old acne
Dull skin
How it works
The peel works via two different mechanisms. First, the peel itself causes a true “peel” of the skin – exfoliating pigment and old skin cells. Then aggressive topical bleaches are applied continually for the following weeks to turn down the pigment production in the skin. A second touch-up peel is typically applied about 6 weeks after the first to further improve pigmentation
Phase 1: intense depigmentation
In this phase, the melanin deposits are removed and the renewal of the first layers of the skin is stimulated, improving its appearance and reducing the spot's intensity.
A single session in cabin where the aesthetic professional applies the mask with an intensive depigmenting action.
Application guideline: The aesthetic professional applies 1 mask with an intensive depigmenting action. Next, after applying the mask, the customer goes home and allows it to act for the time indicated by the professional, between 8 and 12 hours.
Recovery and results:
After your Cosmelan peel, you’ll have some redness, swelling, peeling, and slight irritation (like a sunburn) for about two weeks.
This is all completely normal, and part of the recovery process. You will need to refrain from wearing makeup for 7-10 days following treatment.
After two weeks, your skin will have shed the sun damage, discoloration, and will typically stop “peeling”. Maximum results are visible at about 4 to 5 weeks, which is why the touchup peel is then done at 6 weeks after the first. Strict adherence to the prescribed skincare treatment throughout is crucial to obtain good results.
